Gosford Race Club is proud to sponsor local rider Sally and her OTTB, Golden Tycoon (Ted), at the 2026 @equimillionevent!
Sally spent 13 years as an equine nurse at Wyong Equine Clinic before joining the racing industry with Gregory McFarlane in 2018, where she continues to love her job today.
Sally has been with Ted since he was a 2-year-old, riding him in trials and strapping him throughout his racing career, including a third in the Rosebud and a win in the Newcastle Provincial Championships.
After retiring in 2021, Ted became Sallyโs own, and together theyโve embraced life after racing, with show jumping now their passion.
Weโre so proud to support Sally & Ted as they take on Equimillion 2026, held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre from 2โ5 October!

It was a quieter week of racing for our Gosford trainers, but there were still some fantastic results from those who travelled around the country.

An extraordinary finish from Adam Dugganโs Erina, taking out 1st place in the The Bellevue Hotel Golden Mile Class 2 Showcase Handicap.

Another fantastic result came from Gregory McFarlaneโs Blind Squirrel, taking out 1st place in the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Maiden Handicap.
On the Gosford Trainersโ Premiership ladder, Adam Duggan has taken the lead with 2 wins, while Kylie Gavenlock and Gregory McFarlane are both on 1 win.

Congratulations to Mollie Fitzgerald and Mitch Stapleford, who have been named joint winners of the 2025/26 Gosford Apprenticesโ Premiership.
Both riders finished the season with six wins at Gosford, resulting in a dead heat and the premiership being shared.

Gosford Jockeysโ Premiership Winner ๐
Congratulations to Zac Lloyd, who has taken out the 2025/26 Gosford Jockeysโ Premiership with 11 wins for the season.
Zac finished two wins clear of Tommy Berry to claim the title after another outstanding season in the saddle.

Nick Mitchell also had a close finish, with Touchatism running 4th in the OโDonnell & Hanlon Maiden Plate.
Muswellbrook โ 8 September 2026
Angela Daviesโ Magatama finished 4th in the Big Dance Day on 3 November Maiden Handicap after another competitive run.
Hawkesbury โ 10 September 2026
Kylie Gavenlock had two strong results, with Zaddicted finishing 5th in the Group One Thoroughbreds Provincial Maiden Handicap, while Isobel finished 7th in the same race.
On the Gosford Trainersโ Premiership ladder, Kylie Gavenlock and Adam Duggan are both currently sitting on one win each.

It was fantastic to celebrate their achievements, with our CEO Daniel Lacey presenting the premiership trophies.

Track update from our Track Manager, Stephen Scollard at Gosford Race Club. Itโs been one week since seeding, and the track is coming back nicely! ๐ฑ
The team from Elite did a fantastic job with the sand grooving, leaving the track neat and tidy with minimal mess.
Following our recent soil test results, weโve also made some amendments to the track profile and will now continue with our regular fertiliser program as we head into the warmer months.
The team will continue to monitor the progress closely as the track establishes and we look forward to seeing it continue to develop. ๐๐ฑ
