The Central Coast Mariners in conjunction with The Entertainment Grounds are proud to announce a joint promotion of DecemberFest for this upcoming festive season in Gosford. With a huge range of events, this collaboration will ensure that the city of Gosford comes alive this December.

In addition to the three great race days and four Isuzu UTE A-League matches, today we can also confirm that there will be a double header on the 27th December at Central Coast Stadium with the A-League Women’s match between Wellington Phoenix and Newcastle Jets following the men’s match between the Central Coast Mariners and Wellington Phoenix. We are also proud to present that Christmas Carols will return to the Stadium and the New Year’s Eve Fireworks are back.

DecemberFest kicks off with the first home game of the year for the Central Coast Mariners taking on A-League giants Sydney FC on 12 December before a very special night with Carols on the Coast returning to the Stadium on Friday the 17th from 6:00pm. Adult tickets are just $5, with kids and Central Coast Mariners Members going FREE! The Central Coast Mariners are also joining forces with Cancer Council Central Coast to raise money for cancer services in the local area.

With the support from JC Entertainment & Events, this year’s Carols on the Coast will be headlined by award winning country and music artist Kirsty Lee Akers and Australian electronic pop singer/songwriter Elaskia. The line-up will be complete with local and community artists and is the perfect opportunity to come together as a family, kicking off the festive season in style at the stadium.

The following day, the Stadium comes alive again when the Western Sydney Wanderers come to take on the Mariners is what is a huge Saturday evening blockbuster match, kicking off at 5:05pm.

DecemberFest then moves down the Central Coast Highway to The Entertainment Grounds on the 23rd for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Race Day.

After the Christmas dinner has finally settled in your stomach, DecemberFest keeps driving on with an A-Leagues double header at the stadium as the Central Coast Mariners Men’s take on Wellington Phoenix on the 27th December public holiday. The second match of the double header will give the Coast a taste of what A-League Women’s will look like next year as Wellington Phoenix Women’s take on the Newcastle Jets showcasing our wonderful stadium fully prepared to host Women’s football and double headers.

More racing excellence will happen two days later on the 29th when The Entertainment Grounds holds the Belle of the Turf Race Day, which features the INXS tribute band Live Baby Live during the day and will continue on after the last race to keep the party going.

New Year’s Eve this year will be a special one as the annual New Year’s Eve Family Race Day is combined with another blockbuster A-League match as the Central Coast Mariners look to get revenge for last year’s semi-final loss as they take on Macarthur FC in a must win match.

All Central Coast residents will gain free entry to the NYE race day, with plenty of activities to entertain the young at heart including a climbing wall, 9D Mobile Cinema, inflatable games, pony rides, the Australian Reptile Park and superhero activations.

The most exciting part of DecemberFest will start at fulltime of the New Year’s Eve A-League match as the Gosford Waterfront comes to life with the annual New Year’s Eve Family Fireworks. These kick off at 9pm, thanks to DMC Conveyor Services, and will be a chance for the community of the Central Coast to celebrate the end of the year in style with family and friends alongside.

The fireworks action doesn’t stop there however, because in conjunction with Drifters Wharf, 2022 will begin with a bang with a midnight fireworks display on the Gosford Waterfront, from their venue at the old Iguanas Wharf.

DecemberFest Memberships are available now, at just $100 for adults and $50 for kids! It’s not only a great early Christmas present but it will ensure you have a ticket to every exciting event in Gosford on the DecemberFest calendar.

Central Coast Mariners CEO Shaun Mielekamp proudly spoke about how DecemberFest came into fruition:

“I’m really proud that the Central Coast Mariners and The Entertainment Grounds with the support of Mate Telecommunications, DMC Conveyer Services, JC Entertainment & Events and Drifters Wharf are able to give back to the community in such a positive way this December. After everything our community has gone through on the coast over the last 2 years, I know this December will be a very special one for so many people and when the call out happened to join forces and fill the void the response was overwhelmingly positive.”

“Not only are the Central Coast Mariners again committed to putting on the fireworks for New Year’s Eve, but this year we are able to add to this the Christmas Carols on the 17th and hearing that Drifters Wharf are putting on a midnight fireworks display is simply awesome” Mielekamp said

“I encourage every Coastie to go to as many DecemberFest events as possible and show your support for this collaboration in the City of Gosford. It is such a rare occasion that independent orgganisations naturally come together and genuinely look to give back to the community. With an amazing array of events, I know that a successful DecemberFest this year will start to create a special time in the calendar for everyone to visit Gosford as we see business and the CBD continue to grow and fulfill its amazing potential”.

Daniel Lacey from The Entertainment Grounds joined Mr Mielekamp in acknowledging how special and unique DecemberFest is for the community:

“We have always had a very strong relationship with the Mariners and after the past couple of years we thought that everybody needed an opportunity to get back out in our community. Hopefully, this will be the first year of an annual event we can all look forward to.”

All Members of the Central Coast Mariners and The Entertainment Grounds will get access to every DecemberFest event as part of their annual membership making this a great month to celebrate and come together again at your favourite venue & event.
