Racing NSW is excited to share with you the Equimillion 2024 media release highlighting that registrations for the highly anticipated $1m Equimillion event are now open!
The Equimillion event will take place at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre on the long weekend of October 2024 over an expanded four-days.

Equimillion – New Star Thoroughbred Class
The Equimillion is a targeted and premium Industry initiative that will continue to grow. The introduction of the New Star Thoroughbred Class that caters for Thoroughbreds recently retired from racing in the 12 months prior to Equimillion will generate additional interest and support rehoming Thoroughbreds recently retired from racing.
In conjunction with this new Equimillion class, Racing NSW has partnered with four events including prior to Equimillion 2024, Kempsey Show, Young Dressage, Tamworth Showjumping and Waratah Show jumping, as lead in event providing an opportunity for recently retired Thoroughbreds to gain valuable experience prior to Equimillions.
Equimillion 2023 – Success of the Inaugural Event
One of the major successes of the inaugural competition was the extensive support provided by the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Industry through the sharing of Equimillion across your social media platforms and the sponsorship of competitors. Race clubs sponsored riders from their local regions, Thoroughbred studs sponsored riders competing on their progeny and many trainers sponsored riders competing on horses they formerly trained.
This sponsorship initiative saw the entire industry promote the Equimillion competition and celebrate the success of retired Thoroughbred racehorses in their new careers.
