Unfortunately, due to the current global crisis, Gosford Race Club’s inaugural Standalone Race Day scheduled for Saturday 9 May 2020 has been relocated to Randwick.

Over the next eight weeks Hawkesbury, Scone and Gosford were all scheduled to host Standalone meetings however as Racing NSW enforces new biosecurity measures to reduce the risks of the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided that these meetings would move back to Sydney.

Gosford’s Standalone was set to be a fantastic day of racing including the running of the inaugural $500,000 ‘The Coast’.

At this stage the programme will remain the same, however this could change over the coming weeks. Prizemoney may also be reduced to keep in line recent announcements regarding a reduction in prizemoney for the Sydney Autumn Carnival’s feature races, including the Championships.

“It is extremely disappointing not just for the race club but for the Central Coast to have this meeting transferred. However, in the current climate there really was no other choice. The team at Gosford had worked extremely hard to present a great day for the Coast and one to be proud of. We will now move all those ideas to next year and look forward to 2021.” –  Daniel Lacey CEO Gosford Race Club.
