One of the most popular race days on the Central Coast calendar is returning this winter, and it’s one every tradie, contractor and construction worker on the Coast will want to know about.
Tradies Race Day hits The Entertainment Grounds at Gosford Race Club on Friday, 28 August 2026, with gates opening from 10:45am for members and 11:00am for the public. The first race gets underway at approximately 12:00pm, with racing through to 4:30pm across an exciting 8-race card.
Free Entry for White Card Holders
Here’s the big one — tradies with a valid White Card get free entry on the day. Simply present your White Card at the ticketing office and you’re in. It’s one of the best deals in racing, and a great excuse to knock off early and bring the crew out for the afternoon.
General admission tickets are just $10 online or at the gate, with concession tickets available for $5. Children under 17 enter free.
Hospitality Packages for Every Group
Whether you’re organising a day out with your workmates, a corporate group or just a few mates, there are several hospitality options to suit every occasion and budget.
The Lakeview All-Inclusive Package at $154 per person (minimum 4 people) is the full experience — a three-course luncheon at a reserved table in the Lakeview Room with panoramic views of the racecourse and winning straight, plus a five-hour standard beverage package and racebook. Tables seat up to 10, with shared seating for smaller groups.
Prefer something a little more relaxed? The Lakeview Reserved Table package is $45 per person (minimum 2), giving you a reserved spot in the Lakeview Room with a private bar, betting facilities and a shared grazing platter included.
For members and their guests, the Members Dining package offers a three-course luncheon served in the Panorama Lounge — the best seat in the house overlooking the winning post — at $92 per person for members or $112 for non-members. Note that no beverage package is included in this one, so drinks are at your own pace from the bar.
Looking for something completely private? The Carousel is available to book exclusively for groups of 30 or more, and is perfectly suited to work celebrations, corporate events, or a big group day out. It features cocktail tables, Sky Racing TV monitors and a private bar in a climate-controlled setting. To enquire about The Carousel, contact [email protected].
Add a Grazing Platter
Round out your race day with a seasonal grazing platter — small platters serving approximately 2 people are $55, and large platters serving 4 to 6 are $110, loaded with cured meats, cheeses, dips, crackers, fresh fruit, marinated vegetables, olives and fetta.
A Great Day to Network Too
Tradies Race Day has built a reputation as one of the best informal networking events for tradies and local businesses on the Central Coast. It’s a relaxed, social atmosphere — good racing, a cold drink in hand, and a crowd full of people who work in and around the same industries. If you’ve been meaning to connect with other local operators, this is the day to do it.
Don’t Leave It Too Late
Hospitality bookings close two business days before the event, so get in early to secure your preferred package. Spots in the all-inclusive and dining packages are limited and fill up fast.
