CEO of Gosford Race Club Daniel Lacey believes there’s no better way to launch the 2024 Coast Race day than by walking a horse into a bar on the Central Coast’s iconic Terrigal Beach.

“The Coast is our race club’s richest race day, with over $2 million in prize money. It has been a game changer for the industry not to mention the knock-on effect for the regions economy.”

Sky Racing Presenter Kiersten Duke, a Gosford Race Club Ambassador,  is no stranger to horses.  She has been riding since she was 5 years old and will lead in the horse.

“I’ve grown up with horses my whole life. Firstly riding as a kid, then working in racing stables and now combing my love for horses and racing as a presenter for Sky,’’ she said.

“The Coast meeting is really special for me. I’m an ambassador for Gosford Race Club, they’re an innovative club and I’ve really enjoyed working with them to promote their race days and none are bigger than a $2 million day for the club.”

The Coast market is attracting strong interest despite a Heavy Track expected. TAB Senior Trader Tim Ryan said “Tavi Time ($4) dominates the betting in what shapes as a competitive edition of The Coast. He is 3 for 3 at the mile and punters haven’t missed him, he holds more than half the money invested on the race. Grebeni ($6) will carry top weight and has supporters, while there has also been a good move for his stablemate Williamsburg ($6) in early betting.”
