The Entertainment Grounds are pleased to announce the inaugural ‘Taste the Coast’ food festival event to be held on Sunday 5 May.

Local food and beverage experts from across the region have been invited to showcase their best dishes and drinks to the community in a festival-style event. Live music, cooking demonstrations and kid’s activities will also set the scene.

The Cowrie, Yellowtail, Little Miss Mezza and Kefi are among the participating restaurants. Six Strings Brewing Co will be supplying their locally brewed beverages, while fresh produce from Fresko Fruits in Kincumber will be ripe for the picking.

The festival will kick off at midday with free entry for children under 17, and the $15 adult ticket includes a reusable wine or schooner glass.

A ‘carnival’ of events will be brought to the community during May, with the food festival kicking off an exciting line up; the finale being the Coast Race Day. The Coast Race Day on Saturday 11th May is the Central Coast’s richest race day and returns for its fourth year.

“This event has been something we’ve had on the backburner since the inception of our Coast Race Day in 2021, so it’s very exciting to see it finally come to life!

The Central Coast is a true ‘foodie’ destination with so many hidden gems that are worth showing off. We also know that tourists flock to the Coast primarily for short stays, so why not try to build on this for the economic benefit of the entire region,” said Kristina Ayton, The Entertainment Grounds COO.

We have been pleasantly surprised with the amount of support already received from restaurants, cafes, producers, and breweries eager to get involved, with the likes of The Cowrie, Yellowtail, Little Miss Mezza and Kefi among some of the fine dining restaurants coming to showcase their signature dishes.

‘Taste the Coast’ will now form part of the Coast programme among other events such as the ‘Toast the Coast’ Sportsman’s Lunch at the Railway Hotel on Friday 10th May.” Kristina continued.

“I’m looking forward to inviting everyone here to experience what the Coast has to offer. There is amazing culinary talent right across our region that needs to be highlighted and this event is the perfect platform,” Gary Burns, The Entertainment Grounds Chef
